Under the leadership of the Maillardet family, watch-makers since the 18th century, Ultra produced the first French automatic watch in 1949 and grew to become one of the major actors of the French clock making scene in the 1950’s and 1960’s
Because watch-making perfection can only be achieved through absolute precision, we control and fine-tune all our movements before and after assembly to meet the highest standards of time-keeping.
From the precision edge painting on the leather straps and the fish-scale engraving inside the case back-cover to the hand bending of the watch’s hands to follow the curve of the crystal, all processes necessary to produce an Ultra watch are performed by highly skilled artisans who contribute to making every piece exceptional and unique.
We are proud to introduce the Superautomatic Grey matte, an exclusive collaboration piece honoring the idea of time well dressed. Working closely with Arnault Castel of Kapok, we set out to create an aesthetic that would resonate with the same unisex minimalist feel of the Kapok curated selection.
